A special day of retreat 

Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, our Root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.

But on the auspicious day June 4, Venerable Geshe-la’s birthday and Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, at Kadampa centres around the world, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat.

1. THE POWER OF LOVE According to Buddhist teachings, love is the great protector. It protects us so much. This is the power of love – it can transform even the most difficult situations into something beautiful. Love has the power to heal, to unite, and to bring happiness to all beings. Ultimately, our love will become the universal love of a Buddha, which actually has the power to bestow happiness on all living beings. This is the goal of the Buddhist path – to develop pure love and compassion so that we can benefit all beings without exception

2. DEVELOPING AUTHENTIC CONFIDENCE  – In this meditation class we will understand methods to let go of our inhibiting insecurities and instead identify with our potential.  This authentic self confidence naturally empowers us in all our activities.  We will explore how to integrate this self confidence into our life and in particular how to use it to bring about the deeper changes that we long for.  We will look at how we can use Buddhist meditation to develop authentic and stable self confidence based upon our spiritual potential – something that is indestructible and innate within each of us.  In this way we begin to be the confident, joyful, loving person we truly wish to be. 

3. BUDDHIST TEACHINGS OFFER US SO MUCH HOPE – Buddhist teachings are designed to protect the mind. With this protection, especially in the face of the constant stimuli of daily life, achieving true happiness can be our experience. In this meditation class we will see how the wisdom of Dharma can be seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives, helping to enhance our happiness and mental well-being

4. BEAUTIFUL WISDOM Buddha taught that the key to our happiness is in our hands and we can access this happiness by increasing our wisdom. In this meditation class we will explore how we can truly let go of problems, fears and resentments by learning to understand the real nature of things.

Buddha’s Tantric teachings and meditations are all about taking charge of our own identity and steering it in meaningful directions. Learn how we can break out of our own limitations, and awaken our vast potential for happiness.

In this course we will explore the Buddhist view on the quick path to enlightenment, and how through the practice of Tantra we can quickly fulfil our potential to help all living beings.

This course is a perfect preparation for the Highest Yoga Tantra Empowerment that will take place at the International Kadampa Festival, Jul/Aug 2026 at Manjushri KMC.

This course is suitable for everyone.
