meditation classes across Wirral

What is Meditation?

Meditation is a method to calm and train our mind into being peaceful, thereby helping us control our emotions in difficult situations. We can use meditation techniques throughout the day by remembering mindfulness. If our mind is peaceful, the world we experience is peaceful, therefore meditation is essential to our daily inner happiness.

What is Modern Buddhism?

Modern Kadampa Buddhism follows a special presentation of Mahayana Buddhism teachings of compassion and wisdom, which have been updated for people of the modern world that anyone can put into practice in their busy daily lives.

Where to Start?

Whether you have practiced meditation before or are new to it, you will find a range of classes and courses to choose from. No experience is necessary.

Everyone is welcome.

Inner contentment and happiness awaits…

Testimonials from our teachers

“I walked past a notice in the newsagents about meditation classes at Kailash Buddhist Centre which caught my attention. I went to the wrong venue at first but persisted and found the correct venue the following week. I remember being greeted with warmth, humour and felt immediately relaxed. I listened to my first teaching, connected with the teaching so much and have been attending ever since.

That moment at the newsagents changed my life.”

Kadampa Teacher Neil

“My journey into Buddhism and Kadam Dharma was through my lifelong passion for music. I’d been following a few hardcore punk and metal bands and was particularly interested in the ‘eastern’ themes in some of the music I was listening to. Buddha just made so much sense to me. Long story short…. I read Introduction to Buddhism and ended up at Sue’s class in Hoylake. Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings have helped me so much over the last few years.

My main wish is to help others find true happiness through these beautiful practices.”

Kadampa Teacher Garry

“On my 60th birthday, my younger daughter Kate asked me what I felt my three achievements had been in life. I replied marrying your Mum, having you and your sister, and finding Buddhism.

Finding Buddhism was 25 years ago and I have benefited every day since.”
