Concentration: Part of a series of workshops on the six perfections

With Kadampa Teacher Neil

“Concentration serves to focus our mind on one object. Concentration is particularly important for our spiritual practice. Pure concentration has four qualities: lucidity, clarity, strength, and stability. When the mind is free from the clouds of distracting conceptions it becomes bright and clear, like a cloudless sky. The main function of virtuous concentration is to make the mind peaceful. When our mind is free from the turbulence of distracting conceptions it becomes calm and smooth”.  How To Understand The Mind: The Nature And Power Of The Mind Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

In this workshop, we will continue with Buddha’s teachings on the six perfections. We can spend some time contemplating and meditating on the benefits of developing our concentration to be of support to us in our busy daily lives and also to help maintain and allow our experiences of inner peace to grow through improving our concentration.
